Ford Brewer, MD, MPH

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Ford Brewer, of Spartanburg, SC, graduated with his MD from the Medical University of South Carolina. He then went on to graduate with his MPH from Johns Hopkins where he later served as the Chair of Post-Graduate Studies. Additionally, Dr. Brewer has served as the Chief Medical Officer for several national corporations such as Toyota, Google, Premise Health, Kroger, and MDLive. He enjoys hosting weekly Facebook Live events and Google podcasts to keep his patients and the community informed on diseases and prevention. On the weekends, Dr. Brewer enjoys spending time with his wife Janice, with which he has a son and daughter, who holds two Doctoral degrees and one Master’s degree. For many years, Dr. Brewer has enjoyed playing basketball and endurance sports.

Ryan Rainer, MD

Physician

Dr. Ryan Rainer is a Family Medicine Specialist who has over 22 years of experience in Internal Medicine. He graduated from University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1999 after earning a degree in Sports Medicine with Magna Cum Laude honors in 1995. Dr. Rainer, his wife, and 5 kids recently moved to the Eastern Shore from Northeast Alabama to join the Jubilee Primary Care team. Outside of preventative medicine, Dr. Rainer helps coach his kids’ sports teams, watches a myriad of swim meets, and leads medical mission trips in the Caribbean with students from Samford University.

Joseph Amato, MD

Physician

 Joseph Amato, MD, is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician who has practiced medicine for 18 years in the Mobile area. He grew up in Prattville, AL, then attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he received his undergraduate degree in Biology. He then moved to Mobile, where he attended Medical School at the University of South Alabama. Dr Amato then moved to Biloxi, MS where he began his United States Air Force active duty and residency training at Keesler Air Force Base. After seven years of service, he settled back in Mobile. Dr. Amato says that he chose to be an Internist because he wanted a challenging and rewarding career and to help patients get control of their health in a meaningful way. Dr. Amato lives in Mobile and has one daughter named Sofia.

Stephen Simpson, MD

Physician

Stephen Simpson, MD, has been serving Mobile and Baldwin County patients since 1999.  He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Molecular Biology.  He received his Medical Degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and subsequently completed an Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency at the University of South Alabama.  He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society.  He is board certified in Internal Medicine.  Dr. Simpson and his family live on the Eastern Shore.  His hobbies include collecting and playing board games and card games.

Kaylee Ellis

Nurse Practitioner

Kaylee Ellis, MSN, CRNP, has practiced as a Registered Nurse since 2014 and became a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in 2019. She originates from Madison, Mississippi and attended Mississippi State University where she obtained a B.S. in Nutrition. After graduation, she moved to Fairhope, AL, where she worked as a nurse in the Operating Room at USA and Thomas Hospitals. She earned her M.S. in Nursing for Dual Role Nurse Practitioner (Family and Acute Care) from The University of South Alabama. Kaylee loves living an active lifestyle on the Eastern Shore with her son, dog, and cat. She is excited to begin serving the people of Gulf Coast Alabama with Jubilee Primary Care.

Ashley Coleman, MD

Physician

Ashley Coleman, MD, is a Board-Certified Physician and joined Jubilee Primary Care in 2022. Originally from Jackson, Alabama, Dr. Coleman graduated from The University of South Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Following his undergraduate program, he then received his Masters of Arts in Health Education from the University of Alabama. Once he finished his Masters, he received his Doctorate from the University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Medicine as a part of the Rural Medicine Scholars Program. While at UAB School of Medicine, he got inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha – Medical Honor Society. Dr. Coleman completed his Residency Program in Family Medicine in Florence, South Carolina. Once he became Board-Certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Coleman moved back to Jackson, Alabama, where he practiced for six years. For five and a half years, Dr. Coleman has been practicing as a Hospitalist at Thomas Hospital. Dr. Coleman says that he chose to practice medicine because of the impact his grandfather, Dr. Robert Shaw Bowling, Jr., had on his hometown as a Family Physician. He enjoys freshwater fishing, inshore saltwater fishing, history, genealogy, and collecting vinyl records in his free time.
